After being stuck for ages on the "Updating Game Files", I get the Launcher to Combability Mode (Win XP SP2), and did the same for the "Agent.exe" files in Program Data (as described earlier). That is, after deleting them before trying it again. Starting over with trying to mark Updaters as well for Combability Mode. After leaving the installer for ~30 minutes, it finally brings up an error stating it could not run the Blizzard agent; This gives me an error code - BLZPTS00007 - which gives me a few more google hits including a seemingly official guide on how to troubleshoot agent issues on Battle.net, however performing the steps listed under 'Advanced Troubleshooting' still hasn't resolved my problem. How can I get past "Updating setup files..." when reinstalling Diablo 3, and what is error BLZPTS0007?Killing any of the agent processes that spawn (it spawns many) results in the launcher loading with an immediate error stating "There has been a communication error, please restart the launcher", restarting the launcher results in the process repeating againsince it didn't "install" yet - there is no entry in add/remove programs.I have nothing in My Documents, I have the launcher files in C:\Program Data and I have removed all of those, I have cleared all of my various temporary file locations as per the recommendations, rebooted, ensured that none of the files had returned, etc etc - still doesn't get past that screenshot For whatever reason, Internet Explorer (which I never use) was set to "work offline".Exe from this folder before it restarts itself in task manager (A DOS window will appear, let it run all the way, it will close itself) Once it finishes, the Launcher will die. Note, I ran Agent.524 first, not sure if that is a pertinent step or not, if it is, insert it before Agent.868. What if this same issue appears with the full game? Whenever you start the install, first wait for to appear in the Processes tab in Task Manager, then kill it. But as the shadow once again crawls across our world...

If this works for you guys can you add it to the forums? What I did: Run launcher, it'll stick at 60% Open Task Manager and Kill Open C: Program Data/Battle.net/Agent/Agent.868 Run Agent. and the stench of terror drifts on a bitter wind... It just sits there with "Updating setup files...." and that's it.

It switches between "updating setup files" and "launching blizzard launcher" for a good hour and a half now... I did an integrity check aka ran the installer peer to peer loader and it checked all the files and it was fine...
