Staff and students from community college and vocational-technical school settings in California, Kansas and Minnesota were directly participating in the project activities.The four years of project activities were organized into five phases: 1) develop collaborative relationships with stakeholders, 1) development of IAM involving nine colleges, 3) field test in development sites, 4) revision and replication with nine new sites, and 5) dissemination.If a student receives a medical diagnosis or holds personal circumstances that may affect their satisfactory progress in academic or clinical training, then the student may need to withdraw from the program until the personal situation is resolved or medical clearance is obtained.Students are expected to abide by the university and department policies while enrolled as a student.Significant advancements have been made in our understanding and use of accommodations for students with disabilities.Dunn, Brown, Mc Clain and Westman (1994) have provided theoretical, research-based models that can help postsecondary staff match the diversity of learners’ needs with appropriate accommodations.To meet the specific needs of a child, changes may need to be made in one or more of the following instructional conditions – remember, when the child can participate in an activity as it is, no changes need to be made: Reprinted with permission from "Accommodating All Children in the Early Childhood Classroom," Copyright 2002, Circle of Inclusion Project, University of Kansas, Lawrence. Provide alternative texts such as those at reading level, audio versions or translations in their native language.Yet the differences present between group members---their varying roles, needs, skills---and the differences between groups as a whole are a serious obstacle to achieving uniform acceptance of the groupware product, especially when the product treats all people and groups identically.This paper raises several consequences of not accommodating individual differences, and then offers a possible solution to the problem.Students must complete all necessary academic and clinical learning outcomes to successfully graduate.
